Advanced reducing-vaporization mercury analyzer with higher sensitivity and accuracy

The RA-4300 is a new-type of reducing-vaporization mercury analyzer that has higher sensitivity, higher accuracy, and equipped with many required functions.

The design is renewed, and a detector, a reagent dispenser and an automatic sample changer are integrated into a single, compact unit.

The solution of samples decomposed through wet-pretreatment, such as tap water, river water, and industrial wastewater are automatically measured.


Samples are wet-pretreated according to measurement methods specified in standards such as JIS K0102 to transform all mercury into the divalent mercury ion (Hg2+) form.

When Tin (II) Chloride solution is added to the wet-pretreated sample, divalent mercury ion (Hg2+) is reduced to zero-valent metal mercury, and, with a mercury bubbler, metal mercury turns into mercury gas.

The acid mist and water vapor that are generated during mercury bubbling is removed with the electronic cooling unit and other devices, and then mercury gas is introduced into the absorption cell, and mercury is measured by atomic absorption spectroscopy.

Various automation help analyzer without enough experience

The RA-4300 is a standard model for mercury measurement but ensures that a variety of its functions improve the reliability of measurement results and support analyzers who have little experience.

  • Daily inspection to check the equipment stability is automated.
  • The peak for mercury and the peak for other substances are identified automatically.
  • Based on the preset conditions, validity of the calibration curves is automatically determined.
  • Flow rate during measurement is monitored to secure the reliability of the automatic measurement.
  • The system for high concentration measurements and the additive recovery test support the accuracy of measurements.

You can use sampling tubes used in the previous model, and you can also perform measurements using commercially available centrifuge tubes.
The RA-4300 shares tubes with other analyzers, which leads to reduction in operating cost.
